--- Independent Living POSITION SUMMARY: This paid internship role
is an amazing opportunity to enhance public relations for The
Overlook---s Independent Living Community (as well as other
divisions within Masonic Health System) through the creation of
'human interest' stories, press releases, social media outlets to
maintain a positive identity and visibility. Establish and maintain
strong, positive relationships with the news (local and national)
media, applicable trade representatives, Masonic Fraternity,
stakeholders and other public interest groups. Employs methods and
techniques to promote Overlook in accordance with resident and
employee privacy policies. THE OVERLOOK WAY: Culture of Excellence

compromising performance or outcomes PRINCIPLE DUTIES/ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS: ? Plan and direct public relations programs designed to
create and maintain a favorable public image for The Overlook.
Identity opportunities to highlight and showcase residents and
employees ? Work closely with colleagues and Sage Age to generate
new ideas for social media, blog post, Youtube, Facebook, Instagram
and Linkedin ? Develop and maintain relationships with members of
the newspaper, radio, television and web media for story
development ? Create, copyedit, proofread, and revise press release
communications, research and compose articles for the Trowel, use
photography and video to enhance media releases. ? Work closely
with the Executive Director of IL and the Director of Sales and
Marketing to identify stories and articles that would be of
interest to media outlets ? Develop and expand the network of
contacts for major online media sites that cover stories related to
the senior living industry with a highlight on The Overlook ?
Ensure that Masonic Health System privacy policies for residents,
employees, visitors etc. are in compliance with any and all media
releases. ? Assist with the marketing plan as directed by the
Director of Sales and Marketing ? Compile sales information,
prepare weekly sales reports and distribute to the marketing staff
and other staff members as directed ? Assist the marketing staff in
the planning and implementation of special events and community
marketing meetings ? Perform administrative and related activities:
type letters, reports, records and efficiently plan and organize
the marketing office ? Greet and ---screen--- visitors and provide
information when staff is not available. Answer telephone, take
messages and reply to questions in accordance with general
instructions. Communicate relevant information to and from staff
members as appropriate ? Use our CRM, Enquire, to pull reports and
drill down on statistics and data ? Submit articles of interest to
senior living trade organizations such as Leading Age (National and
local) ? Research media coverage and industry trends. Complete a
market analysis for each level of services at The Overlook ?
Ability to commit to this internship for the specified time period
of 8 weeks QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an
individual must be able to perform each essential duty

internship for a specified amount of time. ? Current enrollment in
a related Bachelor of Science program such as Public Relations or
related areas such as Communication, Journalism or Marketing at a
University / College ? Passion for the Public Relations Industry as
well as its best practices ? Solid understanding of the different
social networks ? Self-starter, strong skill in identifying public
relations opportunities ? Excellent judgment and problem solving
skills ? Strong oral and written communication and speaking skills
? Excellent communication and listening skills, resourceful and
organized ? Computer skills Located on a beautiful 450 acre campus
