Job Description:
Encompass Health, a national leader in integrated healthcare
services, is seeking a skilled Hospital Maintenance Mechanic to
join our dedicated facilities team. This role is crucial in
ensuring that our healthcare facilities, spanning across 42 states,
operate efficiently and safely, supporting both our facility-based
and home-based patient care services. The ideal candidate will be
responsible for maintaining and repairing physical structures of
buildings and maintaining grounds with a detail-oriented approach
and an emphasis on safety compliance. Perform routine and
preventative maintenance of all building systems including HVAC,
electrical, and plumbing. Inspect, operate, or test machinery or
equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions. Diagnose mechanical
issues and correct them. Repair or replace defective equipment
parts using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
Record maintenance and repair work performed on facilities. Ensure
compliance with local health and safety regulations. Collaborate
with other departments to ensure optimal facility function and
safety standards are met. Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical,
plumbing, and carpentry. Proficiency in using hand tools and power
tools. Problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to
read and understand repair manuals and system blueprints. Medical
Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Certification from
a recognized authority such as HVAC or electrician certification
strongly preferred. Safety training and compliance
certification.
