Job Description Job Description Journeyman Electrician Job Description We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our team in West Michigan. This candidate will be responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment in commercial and industrial projects. Responsibilities Install and service electrical systems and equipment in various commercial and industrial projects throughout West Michigan. Install feeder and branch conduit and wiring, including EMT, IMC, Rigid, PVC, and PVC Coated Rigid, by bending, cutting, and threading all sizes and types. Troubleshoot electrical components such as transformers, motors, panels, and circuits. Install electrical systems including switch gears, motor control centers, electrical panels, fire alarms, conveyor, lighting, and power systems. Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits using devices such as ohmmeters or voltmeters to ensure compatibility and safety. Read blueprints including MEP drawings, architectural specs, schematics, plan details, wiring diagrams, and submittals. Essential Skills & Qualification Journeyman Electrician License from the State of Michigan. 5 years of electrical experience in commercial and industrial settings. Valid driver's license and ability to provide own transportation to the job site. Leadership experience. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with working knowledge of electrical systems. Work Environment Work primarily occurs in commercial or industrial buildings and construction sites. The standard work schedule is first shift from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with an expectation of 40-50 hours per week. Travel may be required, with travel pay and per diem provided for out-of-town assignments Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wayland, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
