DESCRIPTION SUMMARYThe WPI Department of Mathematical Sciences
invites applications for a teaching position (non tenure-track) to
begin in the Fall of 2022. The broad focus is in the areas of
Statistics. Possible areas of expertise include but are not limited
to Bayesian Statistics, Biostatistics, Causal Inference, Survey
Sampling, and Time Series. The successful candidate is expected to
contribute to the teaching mission of the department, which
embraces project-based learning. This position would allow
opportunities to mentor industry sponsored undergraduate and
master's projects, as well as flexibility to further interact with
industrial partners to cultivate internship and research project
opportunities for students. Interest to interact and contribute to
WPI's interdisciplinary programs and initiatives, which include
Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, Cybersecurity, Data
Science, Neuroscience, and Robotics, is welcomed and encouraged.JOB
DESCRIPTIONThe successful candidate will join a department of over
40 faculty and postdocs. Our undergraduate programs in Mathematical
Sciences and Actuarial Mathematics have over 200 students and our
graduate programs have approximately 100 students. At the graduate
level, we have several master's programs (Applied Statistics,
Applied Mathematics, Industrial Mathematics, and Financial
Mathematics) and we offer PhDs in Mathematical Sciences and
Statistics. The department has a strong reputation for its
cutting-edge interdisciplinary research and for its successful
programs addressing mathematical and statistical problems in
industry, with a Center for Industrial Mathematics and Statistics
(CIMS).Qualified applicants should submit (1) a curriculum vitae,
(2) a teaching statement, (3) a research statement, (4) a cover
letter, and (5) four letters of recommendation, at least one of
which addresses teaching experience or potential. Review of
applications will begin on December 10th and review of applications
