Job Description:
Summary - Job Responsibilities --- Activities: The SPS Test
Engineering position is a ---hands-on--- role that will focus on
component and system level testing of complex electronic,
cryogenic, and vacuum equipment for use in military applications.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated and will bring a
high level of initiative and energy, to the position and will work
directing with the manufacturing, engineering, and quality groups
in the organization. Functions: Qualification/End of cycle testing
for the components and systems mentioned above. Research, design,
develop and test electronic equipment and systems at AMSC
including; circuity components, analog and digital computing
equipment, and control and test equipment. Execute Dynamic Testing
including Random & Sine Vibration, Classical & SRS Shock,
Acceleration Develop Instrumentation Testing including ICP & Charge
mode Pressure Transducers, Oscilloscopes, Charge Amplifiers and
Signal Conditioners, Constant Current Supplies, Digital and Analog
Filters, Thermocouples, Humidity Probes and Pressure Sensors
Perform critical current of superconductor wire in cryogenic
environments Proficient in LabVIEW development Preparation of test
equipment specifications, process study, research investigations,
report preparation and other activities of limited scope requiring
knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques commonly
employed in the specific area of assignments Develop and facilitate
execution of validation test plans, address issues using sound
engineering approaches Gather, process and correlate data,
recognize discrepancies in results and follow operations through a
series of related detailed steps or processes Create wiring
diagrams and schematics for custom SCADA systems Education -
Experience: Bachelor of Science Degree in STEM (Science,
Technology, Engineering, Math) and a minimum 5 years of engineering
experience, electrical engineering preferred. Minimum 3 years---
experience with proficiency in a testing environment with a
complete understanding of component function and testing
requirements. Minimum 3 years--- experience with manufacturing
processes, drawings and standards. Fully understands a system and
its components. Minimum 3 years--- experience in a manufacturing
environment, preferably in aerospace and defense. National
Instruments Certification a plus Proficient with Solidworks a plus
Required Skills, Competencies, Authorities and Training Needs:
Thorough working knowledge of the basic electrical principles such
as Ohm---s Law and electrical power dissipation Ability to design
and build SCADA systems to measure current, voltage, temperature,
and pressure Ability to log, processes, and interpret collected
data. Knowledge of accuracy analyses, instrumentation calibration
theory and tolerance stack-ups. . Independent unit testing,
debugging, software/hardware integration. U.S. Citizenship is a
requirement Proficiency with MIL-SPECs a plus Limited Travel (10%)
