Job DescriptionWe are currently working with a billion-dollar global medical device manufacturer that is doubling in size over the next five years. As a result, we have been asked to identify a Strategic Commodity Manager in the Worcester, MA area. Strategic Commodity Manager Location: Worcester, MA area Ref No: 1248 Role Overview This position is responsible for maintenance of the company's Master Schedule and production pull system models, establishing monthly/daily production plans, supervising production Kanban card processes, and supervising the Planning Supply Chain Administrator. Position is also responsible for support in responding to all intercompany customer service inquiries from other divisions and reporting overall company backorder status to Senior Management. Key Responsibilities

• Coordinates monthly updates of production planning boards.
• Obtains demand information from business units, updates Kanban planning models for generation and reporting of Master Schedule base on demand indicators from customer orders and forecasts
• Supervises information updates for the Kanban card system, including daily, monthly updates to KPIs used by operations, management and executives
• Supervises production planning coordinators daily standard work ensuring all objectives are met within on-time and in-full
• Develops and maintains reporting and KPIs as required by management and executives
• Oversee sales order entry process and customer confirmations, communicating with customers as necessary regarding order status for manufactured goods.
• Support to all external customer calls/emails regarding orders, availability of equipment, returns etc. Respond to inquiries, prioritize, and resolve customer's problems independently. Ensures all problems are resolved comprehensively and follow-up is completed according to established time frames Key Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 4-6 years production planning, order management experience, preferably with an ISO certified medical device manufacturing company.
  • Extensive experience required utilizing pull systems and MRP (SAP Preferred).
  • Has knowledge of and is able to perform all jobs within area of oversight.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge along with competency with other MS Office applications Compensation Plan:
