Summary:Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the VP of Financial Planning & Analysis will be responsible for short term and long-range financial forecasts, budgeting as well as managing corporate insurance and reinsurance coverage. The individual will engage closely with Fallon's executive leadership team and business unit leadership, providing financial analysis for effective and informed decision-making, impact on strategic initiatives and forecasting. This position collaborates with business unit owners and product line owners across the organization. ResponsibilitiesFinancial Planning & AnalysisPartner with business unit leaders to develop long term financial plansLead budgeting, forecasting and management reporting of forecastsLead capital modeling for a variety of efforts such as: budgeting, financial forecasts and annual ORSA reportLead any financial forecasting for new business opportunities or any financial transactionsUnderstand business drivers and recommend measures to further improve financial resultsEstablish efficient processes for monthly and quarterly performance reporting for optimal resultsPartner with business functions to plan and analyze key performance indicators, prepare monthly and quarterly required financial reporting requirements, analyze financial results and variances, assess business performance and risks, and communicate key messages to the business team.Conduct business and resource productivity analysis; interpret and present key findings for senior leadershipLead the quarterly forecasting process and annual budget process working closely with the Chief Actuary and Corporate ControllerProvide analysis and insights into variances between actual and expected financial results including identifying and executing on cost reduction opportunitiesAddress ad hoc financial analysis requestsWork with the business to execute strategies to maintain adequate expenditure and investment controlsCorporate Insurance and Reinsurance CoverageManage relationship with brokersEnsure company has adequate insurance coverage in placeCoordinate the completion of annual policy applicationsManage policy renewal processRespond to day to day insurance-related questions, obtain certificates of coverage when needed, etc.Report claims and follow up as necessary.Monitor high cost medical cases and ensure appropriate recoveries receivedKey finance resource that is part of many cross functional committees (examples include but not limited to ERM committee and Compliance Steering committee and Security committee).ProcurementOversee procurement function at Fallon Health which includes leading a business unit of 1 director and 3 staff. QualificationsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field and a minimum of 10 years' experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Strong Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) ownership & accountability, with a proven track record of executionProven experience implementing financial planning strategiesDemonstrated financial leadership skills and expertise with an emphasis on financial analysis, budgeting, management reporting and projectionsSkilled at creating processes and organization around routine FP&A business function as well as have experience with Financial TransactionsTrack record of building, leading, and inspiring high-performing teamsHigh degree of financial acumen and awareness of financial responsibilityCollaborate with people at different levels within the organization to accomplish a common goal; escalate issues when necessaryDemonstrated ability to build relationships and communicate with peers, subordinates, and executive management. This includes but not limited to making challenging decisions around use of human capital resources and general administrative cost resources.Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and ORSA experience a plus but not requiredHighly detailed, organized, and able to handle multiple competing deadlinesExcellent time and project management skills - can coordinate multiple projects simultaneously in high-paced business culture.Strong, professional verbal and written communication skillsAlways demonstrates the highest level of integrity and ethicsSignificant finance and accounting skills, including Financial Planning, Analysis and budgetingSolid quantitative and financial modeling skills.
