Job Description:
Waters Corporation is currently seeking a highly energetic and
team-oriented candidate to manage our Reliability Engineering
group. This position will lead an evaluation team that provide
support for Engineering, Quality and Production. This includes but
not limited to proof-of-concept testing, verification of designs
during new product development, performing failure analysis and
scrutinizing product enhancements. In addition, this organization
supports cost reduction and supplier changes to ensure product
integrity is not hindered. The product family consists of
analytical laboratory / medical device instrumentation used in
Liquid Chromatography. Responsibility will begin during product
introduction via very close interaction with our development and
operations functions and continue through product end of product
life. The role will be exposed to multi-disciplined engineering
principles and technologies in a dynamic and fast paced
environment. This hands-on position requires dynamic leadership,
excellent, interpersonal skills, problem solving, critical
thinking, as well as a compelling initiative to see his/her
organization and organizations around him/her succeed. This is an

- Provide leadership and effectively manage resources to meet our
corporate goals.
- Develop departmental strategies and maintain alignment with
corporate strategy, budgets, policies, and procedures
- Responsible for establishing standard and meaningful objectives
for the department.
- Ensure the proper use of resources, project prioritization, and
drive continuous improvement activities
- Influence earlier involvement with the product design team and
advocate DFx best practices
- Coach and develop technical staff and promote life-long
learning
- Deploy new, or changes to existing, policies and procedures to
ensure the highest level of support and to improve overall product
and process quality, efficiency, and compliance
- Provide technical expertise and leadership to ensure that
problems are resolved based on sound engineering concepts and risk
assessment
- Monitor, evaluate and report project and department progress
and results
- Bachelors degree in technical discipline. Advanced degree
preferred
- Minimum 7 years experience supporting new products
activities
- Minimum 3 years related management experience
- Experience with medical device manufacturing is highly
desired
- Sound understanding of Statistics, Design for Excellence (DFx)
and Six Sigma tools and principles
- Strong leadership skills, self-directed and the ability to make
independent decisions
- Established project management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and written / verbal communication
skills
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and
drive corrective actions and continuous improvements effortsWaters
