Job Description:
Provides leadership and accountability for the Information
Services (IS) application portfolio which includes Clinical,
Revenue Cycle and Access and ancillary applications.Responsible for
ensuring that IS priorities are aligned with business and clinical
strategic goals and operational priorities, and that there is
centralized responsibility for core principles of IS portfolio
management including budget, risk management, strategic alignment
of IS investments, capacity planning, demand management, and
standardization of investment procedure and plans.Demonstrates
leadership presence and builds a track record of leading and
managing high performing teams in a highly specialized and
customer-driven environment. Participates in hands-on activities
with a deep understanding of clinical and hospital operations
including financial analysis, and process improvement.Major
Responsibilities:
- Provides overall leadership and accountability for the
planning, design, maintenance, and support of enterprise wide
business and clinical applications; technical support, integration,
and decision support, furthering the mission, vision and goals of
UMass Memorial Health Care (UMMHC).
- Provides highly responsive customer service programs and
processes to meet customer requirements and solve underlying
problems with assigned application portfolio.
- Maximizes the effectiveness of applications portfolio through
the ongoing program portfolio management, delivery and performance
measurement of clinical, revenue cycle, access and business
applications.
- Provides ongoing leadership regarding the assessment,
evaluation and implementation of new technologies.
- Provides operational management of data integration, reporting,
and training to develop a measurably effective and efficient
application operation.Position
Qualifications:License/Certification/Education:Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent
combination of education and experience, with related knowledge in
information systems.Experience/Skill:Required:
- Ten (10) years of related experience, including seven (7) years
of leadership & staff management experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the methods and processes for the
selection or development and implementation of applications
software to meet business and/or clinical and related practice
management information system needs.
- Ability to provide effective leadership to multi-discipline
teams.
- Excellent project management and communications skills.
- Experience implementing and supporting Workday in a healthcare
setting
- Knowledge of integration with Epic a plus
- 10 or more years experience managing professional staffAll
