Overview:Medical Coding Manager - Stony Brook Psychiatric
Associates, UFPCLocation: Stony Brook, NYSchedule: Full
TimeDays/Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:30 AM - 5 PMSalary Range:
$79,846 - $91,926 (pay will be determined based on experience,
preferred qualifications, and education)Our compensation philosophy

compensation discussions begin during the hiring process and may
occur during job review and promotional opportunities. Salaries
vary depending on experience, education and current market for the
position. Human Resources determines the external and internal
equitable salary for each employee.Responsibilities:SUMMARY: The
Coding Manager will assist the Department Administrator with the
day-to-day operations of the coding unit.Job Duties & Essential
Functions:Act as a resource with regards to coding policies and
procedures to both staff and providers.Oversee the activities of
assigned employees by communicating and providing guidance towards
achieving department objectives.Oversee the coding workflow and
processesOversee the coding QA processAttend meetings and related
training sessionsAct as liaison and problem solver between
physician and staff with regards to coding, charge entry and
documentation supportPrepare reports related to fiscal, operational
issues, or patient care as directed by Department
Administrator.Review and monitor coding productivity
expectationsAll other duties as assigned by
managementQualifications:Required Education & Qualifications:High
school diploma or equivalent.Certified Professional through the
AAPC or AHIMA1 year of documented supervisor experienceAbility to
communicate with Physicians, Managers and Division Chiefs in a
professional mannerExcellent attention to detailExcellent
organizational and communication skillsProficiency use of Microsoft
Office applicationsProficiency in EMR SystemsPreferred
Qualifications:Associate's degreeCertified Professional Coder
(CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Coding
Specialist - Physician Based (CCS-P) certificationProficiency in GE
Centricity and CernerPhysical Demands:The physical demands

job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
regularly required to communicate with patients, staff and medical
providers. The employee must be able to exchange
accurateinformation in these situations. This position is largely
sedentary and requires the employee to remain stationary for a
