VP of Advancement

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President, Advancement is responsible for planning, directing, and implementing a comprehensive advancement and strategic marketing program. The organization is seeking a seasoned professional to, partner with senior leadership and Board of Directors to drive new revenue, maintain and elevate current donors, and bring fresh ideas to the organization that help to shape the future of Company. This professional must build, lead and manage the development and marketing functions and team.
The Vice President, Advancement will have responsibility for all channels of fundraising including annual fund, major gifts, planned giving, corporate and foundation relations, donor stewardship and events. This role will also be responsible for leading marketing and communications, including a marketing strategy, social media management, programmatic advertising internal communication and public relations.
Fundraising and Donor Stewardship Manage all fundraising activities, including designing and implementing strategies for generating increased revenue for programs and capital needs; Establish and prioritize development goals and objectives; Supervise staff and work closely with the Advancement Committee of the Board. Generate tours of the facilities and meetings with current and potential donors; Create and nurture long-term relationships with current and prospective funders; Customize communications and actions for targeting major donors; Manage prospect lists; Track outcomes and impact, and analyze results. Actively participate in top-level fundraising activities and lead event planning and implementation, (including cultivation and solicitations); and ensure funders are well stewarded. Work closely with CEO to shape and lead major capital campaign efforts and annual fund drives. Board Engagement Actively engage Board members in agency advancement initiatives. Co-lead Board Advancement Committee (set agenda, lead meetings, distribute materials for meetings, manage Committee members’ relationships, plan and implement fundraising activities); and Develop fundraising reports for the Board and present information at Board meetings. Marketing Oversee Company Inc. branding and messaging; Manage existing and develop new initiatives including Agency website, E-Newsletter, web-based fundraising, and increased use of social media to broaden donor base and awareness; Oversee creation of all written fundraising materials, including grant proposals, reports, appeal letters, event invitations, etc.; and Generate positive press coverage for the agency. Development Operations Manage and monitor the department’s annual operating budget and revenue plan; Hire, manage, mentor, train and evaluate staff; Maintain database (Raiser’s Edge) ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of recording and reporting information. Establish and maintain appropriate policies and procedures. Possess an eagerness and energy to work collaboratively with the Board and community stakeholders; Detail oriented; oversee and manage the tracking of donor information. Expertise in database management; prior Raisers Edge experience highly preferred and desired. Able to produce professional quality documents in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Exceptional writing skills; ability to produce professional quality marketing materials, grants, press releases and donor acknowledgement letters. Proven experience working in the capacity as a strong and highly competent manager. Self-starter and possess drive and initiative. Results-driven approach. Demonstrated history of achieving positive and profitable results. High level of professionalism and willingness to do "whatever it takes" to reach goals and objectives; Adept at multi-tasking. Demonstrated mature judgment. Ability to work in a diverse environment. Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum five years of nonprofit development and marketing experience. Demonstrated management experience required. Prior work in collaborating with a volunteer Board. Training that would provide the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the successful performance of the essential job duties. Adept at social media platforms (including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
