Job Description:

Designs and programs Oracle databases, using PL/SQL, SQL, and Oracle. Optimizes query performance and database objects, using PL/SQL and SQL. Builds procedures, packages, functions, trigger views, cursors, and PL/SQL collections. Performs SQL Query tuning to improve system performance. Defines functions and transforms client's data using Informatica PowerCenter. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.

Primary Responsibilities:

Participates in architecture design teams.

Defines and implements application level architecture.

Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.

Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.

Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.

Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.

Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.

Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.

Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.

Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.

Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.

Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.

Advises senior management on technical strategy.

Mentors junior team members.

Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.

Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience developing Contract Management Systems and distributed platforms in the financial services.

Or, alternatively, Masters degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience developing Contract Management Systems and distributed platforms in the financial services.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

Demonstrated Expertise (DE) developing dynamic Contract Management Systems to track product versions, orders, and audit history and data archival, using Informatica, Unix Shell Scripting, and Advanced Oracle PL/SQL programming.

DE designing logical and physical data models to implement scalable and efficient databases using advanced data structure concepts -- Binary Tree, Binary Search Tree, Graphs, and Entity Relationship; and performing tree operations -- tree traversal -- using advanced algorithms including, Order Tree, Post Order Tree, and Pre Order Tree Traversals.

DE implementing data storage designs using normalized forms -- Third Normal Form (3NF), Boyce-Codd Normal Form (BCNF), and Key Value Pair -- and denormalized forms; and defining system architecture and component interaction functionalities using Unified Modeling Language (UML) -- State Diagram, Flow Charts, and Sequence and Activity Diagrams.

DE in database performance tuning of complex Oracle PL/SQL queries by analyzing query plans and generating SQL Trace and TKProf; and performing maintenance activities -- gathering statistics, analyzing database objects, and conducting data profiling and data mappings.
