Community Healthlink (CHL) recognizes the power of a diverse community and seeks applications from individuals with varied experiences, perspectives, and backgrounds. - Community Healthlink (CHL) is looking for a full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Clinical Group Specialist at out -Worcester site.
The Worcester Crisis Stabilization Unit is an opportunity for adults (18+) to gain support, clinical treatment, and management of current stressors. We are a 24/7 facility that works as a team to lead encouraging groups, connect clients with medication evaluations, and follow through with aftercare plans. Responsibilities
To develop and implement a curriculum for the Crisis Stabilization Unit and Respite Bed Program to ensure daily structure. To train and assist residential counselors as well as co-facilitate groups and recreational activities on the units throughout the week and weekends. To provide CSU and Respite clients hope while fostering resilience through counseling services for clients with mental health and substance abuse issues. This position involves writing behavioral treatment plans, keeping good documentation including group notes, individual counseling, aftercare planning and communicating with all members of a multi-disciplinary team.


  • Demonstrate - knowledge of rehabilitative groups including independent living, vocational and community living skills, and apply this process in 1:1 interventions and group settings, knowledge of pharmacological effects on mental illness as well as the effects of substance use on mental illness with the ability to direct a group while keeping an emphasis on multicultural awareness,
  • Write treatment plans, progress notes, evaluations (with supervision) and letters in a clear and concise manner within required time limits.
  • Develop a strong working rapport with clients, clinicians, peer specialists, residential counselors and Emergency Services.
  • Maintain the highest standards of ethics and demonstrate professional attitude and conduct.
  • Demonstrate a functional knowledge of counseling skills, have a understanding of mental health and addiction with ability to conduct a mental status exam, consult with Emergency Services for an evaluation. - Possess significant understanding of gender specific interventions and understand concepts of multicultural competent practices
  • Display strong planning, organizing and problem solving skills; in order to assist clients in establishing their goals. - Coordinate daily structure during the week and on the weekends for CSU and Respite clients.
  • Effective verbal and written communication with Residential Counselors, Clinicians, Nurses, Peers Specialists, and clients
  • Must be able pass required trainings including Medication Administration Program (MAP), CPR and First Aid
  • Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients and visitors.

    Qualifications

    • Grade C08- Clinician III: - -Masters degree in a clinical course of study in behavioral health (social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, counseling or related field) that meet the academic requirements -for independent licensure in psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, or mental health counseling in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Requires licensure as LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, or is actively working towards licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
    • Experience running groups.
    • Strong focus on group clinical skills.
    • Will consider second year graduate student with strong clinical intern experience in group work.
