Job Description:
Albany Medical Center, a leading healthcare system renowned for

research, and superior patient care, is seeking a dedicated
Clinical Nurse II to join our Labor and Delivery unit. This vital
role is tailored for a night shift, 36 hours per week, where you
will provide compassionate and specialized nursing care to mothers
and their newborns during one of the most critical and joyous
periods of their hospital journey. This position requires a high
level of proficiency in labor and delivery practices, excellent
communication skills, and the ability to manage complex patient
situations seamlessly. Monitor maternal and fetal well-being during
labor and post-partum periods. Administer medications and
treatments as prescribed and monitor reactions. Assist with
inductions and interventions during labor, including preparation
and management of delivery rooms. Provide guidance, support, and
education to patients and their families throughout the childbirth
process. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and
documentation. Coordinate with healthcare teams to ensure the
effective and efficient delivery of patient care. Implement patient
care plans and monitor patient progress. Advanced knowledge of
maternal-child health nursing and neonatal care. Strong
interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with
patients and staff. Ability to work effectively in a high-stress,
fast-paced environment. Proficient in using healthcare software and
systems relevant to labor and delivery units. Medical Insurance
Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Current Registered
Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice BLS/CPR certification
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification preferred
