And everyone, in their own unique way, plays an important part, everyday.Requisition #191616Title: Director, Program (Value Delivery Office) Department:Information Services Location: Employer 100 Front St, Worcester, MAPosition Summary:Reporting directly to the AVP of the Value Delivery Office, this role provides the management vision to ensure UMMHC achieves the goals of IS project quality and execution entrusted to the role. The position will build collaborative relationships at all levels in the UMMHC organization, partnering with clinical and administrative leadership, project managers and analysts. The role will evaluate current efforts and will drive improvements in the program, using quality and Lean tools as well as other systems. This position will work with business leaders to ensure projects are prioritized and properly budgeted and staffed. Effective partnership and teamwork with internal and external IS partners and all other IS service teams is a key success factor.Position Qualifications: Bachelor s Degree in business, computer information systems, management information systems computer science or related field required and 8 years of experience in IT.Clinical Setting Experience Preferred.Minimum 6 years of experience in an IT project leadership role with specific emphasis and deep working knowledge of effective program management. Minimum 4 years running enterprise wide programs and demonstrated ability to coach/mentor others on program management. Minimum 6 years certified Project Management Professional (PMP) via PMI and/or certified PgMP. Hands on/working experience and knowledge of several EPM systems including Clarity, Service Now, SAP PPM, and MS Project Server. Ability to lead and manage under conditions of ambiguity and uncertainty. Proven organizational skills in working across organizational boundaries and reporting lines - ability to work in a matrix environment as required. Hands on use of LEAN/Six Sigma methodology required. Prior certification strongly desired. Demonstrated discipline, analytical skills, problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to understand and prioritize IT projects according to business benefit. Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with peers and executive leadershipStrong leadership and management skills that align with the UMMHC culture. Specific skills include facilitating change, driving operational excellence, and striving for continuous improvement. Major Responsibilities:Manages several related projects, resources and deliverables for a given technology or business group. Mentors and coaches stakeholders and subordinate staff on program management and business relationship techniques and process. Provides expert and trusted decision-making capacity that cannot be typically achieved at project level; providing the project manager with a program perspective as required. Uniquely experienced to act as a sounding board for ideas and approaches to solving project issues that have program impacts. Develops and sustains effective trusted relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders in order to provide relevant insights, expertise and advice on program management. Ensures projects are properly staffed with internal and external resources. Ensures adherence to all Project Governance procedures, especially timely reporting and cost tracking. Utilizes LEAN/Six Sigma methodology, developing and monitoring ongoing measures of success, which include patient care provider, patient, and family satisfaction. Coordinates the assignment of tasks and helps resolve technical and operational problems. Evaluates the impact of solutions to ensure goals are achieved. Chairs all program reporting and status meetings for both internal and external demands. Develops and maintains all program related KPI/KBIs. Directs and supervises assigned personnel including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training. Makes recommendations on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and similar actions. Resolves grievances and other personnel problems within position responsibilities. Develops and recommends the budgets for the areas managed. Manages activities to assure financial goals are met. Coordinates the assignment of tasks and helps resolve technical and operational problems. Evaluates the impact of solutions to ensure goals are achieved. Provides effective direction, guidance, and leadership over the staff for effective teamwork and motivation, and fosters the effective integration of efforts with system-wide initiatives. Encourages and supports diverse views and approaches, creating an environment of professionalism, respect, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients and visitors. Integrates diversity into departmental objectives, such as hiring, promotions, training, vendor selections, etc. Participates in performance improvement initiatives and demonstrates the use of quality improvement in daily operations. Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies such as Joint Commission, DPH, etc. Develops and maintains procedures necessary to meet regulatory requirements. Ensures that department complies with hospital established policies, quality assurance programs, safety, and infection control policies and procedures. Ensures adequate equipment and supplies for department. Develops and maintains established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives. Ensures compliance to all health and safety regulations and requirements. Performs similar or related duties as required or directed. All responsibilities are essential job functions.
