Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of
heavy highway construction equipment between jobsites, yards, and
maintenance facilities using a lowboy trailer. This role includes
loading and unloading equipment, properly securing and inspecting
loads, complying with DOT regulations and permitting requirements,
and coordinating closely with dispatch, equipment managers, and
field crews to ensure timely deliveries. The Lowboy Driver plays a
key role in minimizing downtime, protecting company assets, and
maintaining a strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and
accountability on every move. Essential Job Functions The duties
listed below are illustrative and not intended to be a

equipment, including chaining, securing, and verifying proper
weight distribution Operate commercial vehicles in compliance with
all DOT, state, and company regulations, including permits, route
restrictions, weight limits, and safety requirements Transport
overweight and oversized equipment in accordance with New York
State permits Perform daily pre-trip inspections Inspect truck,
trailer, and loads before, during, and after transport to prevent
breakdowns or safety issues Coordinate with dispatch, equipment
managers, and superintendents to ensure equipment is delivered on
time and to the correct location Uphold company safety standards
and maintain jobsite professionalism Adjust schedules as weather
conditions, job progress, or mechanical issues change priorities
Work flexible hours, including early mornings, overtime, and
seasonal schedules as required Operate vehicles equipped with air
brakes and standard transmissions Represent the company
professionally when interacting with crews, inspectors, and the
public Requirements Valid Class A CDL (required) 35 years of
verifiable experience preferred; entry-level opportunities are
limited and typically require a minimum of 1 year of experience
Ability to pass a DOT physical and maintain a current Medical
Examiners Certificate Ability to pass a DOT drug screen OSHA 10
Certification Basic computer skills Ability to work independently
