Position Description:
The Residential Care Clinician-I will be responsible for providing
direct acute clinical care to children, adolescents and their
families in our fast-paced hospital diversion I/CBAT program, The
Wetzel Center. The clinician will be responsible for providing
short-term individual, family, and group therapy to support youth
in stabilizing so that they can safely return to their community
setting or next placement. At times, the clinician may need to be
in ratio to provide clinical support to the residential counselors
and to support the needs and safety of the program. The clinician
is responsible for contributing to the successful operation of the
acute-care therapeutic milieu that operates safely, efficiently,
effectively and in a strengths-based, solution-focused, trauma
informed manner. The clinician is an active member of the program's
clinical team and will work closely with the psychiatry, medical,
and residential counselor teams. The clinician is required to
complete all clinical documentation, participate in the on-call
rotation, and is required to work a minimum of one evening per week
to accommodate family's schedules. Acute care is a 24 hour/7 day
per week program in which clinical care is provided daily. During
the COVID pandemic, the clinician will provide in-person
admission/assessment and individual therapy however family
therapy/case consultations will occur via telehealth.
Schedule:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday 10am - 6pm, Thursday 12pm -
8pm
Responsibilities:
Conduct a comprehensive clinical assessment of youth referred for
acute care services
Develop a meaningful safety plan, treatment and after-care plan
Provide quality, effective, intensive, short-term individual,
family, and group therapy
Provide caregiver support through regular contact and caregiver
support groups
Maintain a full caseload as required by the program
Maintain all clinical records in compliance with regulatory
standards and requirements
Participate in on-call rotation, including a minimum of one evening
per week to provide support to the milieu and to facilitate family
therapy sessions
Contribute to the successful operation of the program through being
a collaborative and effective team member
