Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an
Inspector 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
This position will be located in Hopkinton, MA. Uses predetermined
methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to
inspect visually in-process and completed products such as
electronic units and subsystems, precision electromechanical
assemblies or mechanical units, subassemblies, structural flaws,
internal defects, and missing welds. Uses various measuring
devices. Accepts, rejects, or reworks defective or malfunctioning
units or systems. Works from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators,
preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications,
drawing or inspection instructions and checklists. May monitor and
verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other
control procedures. Performs line clearances after each lot to
ensure all materials from the previous lot have been removed. Roles
* Perform in-process and final inspections and end-item data
* Perform detailed mechanical inspections at the piece part level
as well as the assembly and sub-assembly level.
* Generate nonconformance reports for discrepancies discovered
during inspection processes.
* Perform internal audits of work areas and processes to ensure
compliance with Northrop Grumman QMS procedures & AS9100.
* Perform safety audits * Maintain necessary inspection records
* Oversee Calibration process
* Facilitate Customer Source Inspections
* First Article Inspection Reports per AS9102
* Uphold quality standards and workmanship practices in assigned
work centers by learning process specifications and employing
quality workmanship standards during everyday job functions.Basic
* High School Diploma or GED and 6+ years of relevant experience in
Quality Assurance, Electrical or Mechanical field. Note: An
additional 4 years of related work experience may be considered in
lieu of a degree * Ability to read engineering documentation and
inspect to drawings and parts lists, inspection plans, and
* Experience with Microsoft applications and ability to learn new
computer programs/applications * Expertise in technical writing
* Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret security
* Associates degree in engineering discipline
* Working knowledge of TipQA and/or Costpoint database
* Previous experience working for an ISO-certified company Salary
Range: $59,400 USD - $99,000 USD Employees may be eligible for a
discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are
designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow
employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President
or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In
