Community Healthlink (CHL) recognizes the power of a diverse

experiences, perspectives, and backgrounds. Community Healthlink
(CHL) is looking for a full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) Residential
Counselor in Auburn, MA.
Maria Ave House is a six-bedroom congregated housing program which
serves six elder adults whom have serious/persistent mental illness
along with various medical conditions. The mission of this home is
to provide safe, affordable, housing for individuals living with
chronic mental illness and will focus on teaching them to become
more independent with everyday skills, such as taking their
medications, cooking, cleaning, and to live in the least
restrictive setting possible. The program is located in a quiet
residential neighborhood and will be staffed 24 hours a day,
including awake overnight staffing.
The Residential Counselor works with clients to assist in
activities of daily living and foster a sense of safety in the
program. The Residential Counselor runs evidence-based groups,
completes required paperwork, and carries a caseload of clients to
facilitate the implementation of their treatment plans. They are
the middleman between the clients and their providers and also
assist in their day to day treatment and activity planning.

Responsibilities
* Teach daily living skills
* Write and implement treatment plans
* Provide daily care and support for residents
* Provide crisis management services
* Participate in group activities
* Working with residents to maintain the residence on a daily basis
including chores, grocery shopping/carrying groceries into the
kitchen, bedroom upkeep, laundry to include carrying to and from
washer/dryer, yard work, and other moderate housekeeping
duties.
* Must be able pass required trainings including Medication
Administration Program (MAP), CPR and First Aid within first 5
months of employee
* Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of
Respect, and contributes to creating and maintaining an environment
of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all
employees, patients and visitors.
Qualifications
* Grade 5: Residential Counselor I: HSD/HiSet/GED required;
Associates preferred
* Grade 6: Residential Counselor II:Requires a Bachelor's degree;
preferably in the field of psychology or human services
* 6 months volunteer, intern or work experience in mental health,
substance abuse or working with children or families
* Preference will be given to those with experience in social
services and/or working with program's population.
* Desire to serve others required.
* Demonstrated strong work ethic, ability to work independently,
and ability to contribute to team objectives required.
* All bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
* Current valid US-issued driver's license and a registered,
inspected and insured automobile for work related purposes
including transporting clients in a personal vehicle or a company
vehicle.
* Must be able to pass a CORI background check
