OVERVIEW
The Systems Engineer is responsible for the support and
configuration of the hardware and software infrastructure within
the organizations production environment, as well as all remote
branch locations for the HFG Family of Banks.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITES
- Consult with the IT team, vendors, and the business to evaluate
requirements, recommend designs, help plan projects, and execute
tasks for installation of all hardware and software infrastructure
within the production datacenter, disaster recovery location, and
remote branch locations.
- Produce and maintain documentation of current production
datacenter hardware configuration, virtual environment design and
configuration, datacenter disaster recovery system design and
associated procedures.
- Analyze and resolve technical issues, documenting resolutions
in keeping with departmental standards. Serve as a technical
specialist during application infrastructure outages and
emergencies. Support IT Help Desk personnel as the escalation point
for resolution of complex issues.
- Support and administer the bank's LAN / WAN environment,
troubleshoot issues and outages, and maintain its integrity and
security.
- Ensures that accurate audit records and systems standards are
maintained and complied with daily , seek advice and /or take
appropriate corrective action under the direction of the IT
Manager, VP / and/or EVP/CIO.
- Participates in special projects, purchasing and the planning,
selection, development, configuration, testing and installation of
new systems. QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer
Information Systems, or equivalent work experience in networking
and computer technology. Formal technical training or relevant
certifications such as Windows Server operating systems, Cisco
network and VMWARE.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience with multiple platforms
including Windows Servers, Active Directory, VMWare, and Cisco
Networking.
- Experience administering Microsoft Exchange environments and or
Office 365 desirable
- Experience with vulnerability patching and remediation
- Experience scripting administrative tasks using PowerShell
desirable
- Experience managing NetApp SANs Knowledge, Abilities and
Skills:
- Strong analytical/problem solving skills
- Excellent documentation skills
- Ability to communicate technical materials to non-technical
audiences
- Self-starter; able to work independently or as part of a team
PHYSICAL / TRAVEL
- Able to travel outside of the building within a 100 mile radius
to branch locations and occasional training or seminar
participation.
- Adequate hearing and verbal abilities to communicate clearly
and effectively in person and by telephone.
- Work requires infrequent heavy physical exertion 25-50lbs and
the pushing and pulling of carts when necessary.
SCHEDULE
Some overtime, weekend work, occasional on-call duty may be
required.
