UX/UI Design Internship, Summer 2024 (May - August), full-time
work schedule, Monday- Friday 40 hours per week. Please include a

Meraki makes setting up and maintaining reliable Internet and
Internet-powered devices easier than ever before. We enable
organizations everywhere, from local libraries to hotels operating

simply works. We're looking for a UX Design intern to join us in
simplifying IT! As a UX intern at Meraki, you will design of
interactions and components. Collaborating with other designers,
researchers, and partners in product management and engineering,
you will collect data and conduct research to understand users'
goals, and you will explore and iterate on solutions. We place a
high value on encouraging the growth and development of everyone on
the team. On the UX team, we give and get feedback early and often,
share what we know, and learn from each other. UX interns will be
paired with a mentor and work closely with them throughout their
internship. The UX team's primary focus is on software, but we also
find opportunities to collaborate with teams across the
organization and think about how to improve the entire customer
journey. Responsibilities:
- Understand our users' domain, workflows, and difficulties to
inform the design process effectively.
- Build both lo-fi and hi-fi interactions, actively collaborating
with team members to develop innovative and user-friendly
prototypes.
- Continuously refine designs based on feedback from peers, user
research insights, usability testing results, analytics data, and
other relevant sources.
- Present clear and persuasive rationales for design decisions,
ensuring stakeholders understand the user-centric approach behind
the product choices.
- Seek and incorporate feedback from fellow designers,
researchers, and team collaborators to foster an environment of
continuous improvement and excellence in design outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship
now or in the future
- Including but not limited to an upcoming graduate of a
technical degree or certification program from a Technical Boot
Camp, Apprenticeship, Community College or 4-Year University, or
Graduate degree program
- Passionate about user-centered design principles, consistently
placing user needs and experiences at the core of the design
process to create intuitive and meaningful digital interfaces.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams,
collaborating with individuals from diverse fields such as
engineering, product, and more to achieve common design goals.
- Investigate challenges in screen-based products, develop
sophisticated solutions, and refine designs based on feedback and
user insights.
- Knowledge in low/high fidelity wireframing, rapid prototyping,
storyboarding, illustration, and creating user flows, enabling the
creation of cohesive and user-friendly digital interfaces and
products.
- Foundational understanding and familiarity with front-end code
(HTML/CSS), enabling effective communication with developers and

incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the
candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but

Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year,
which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their
birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO)
each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical
or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. We offer
additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community.
Employees are also able to purchase company stock through our
Employee Stock Purchase Program. Employees on sales plans earn
performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which
is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based
incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive
target for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%.
Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may
increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on
incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance
elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to
125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold
of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
