Description Liberty is currently looking for a Microbiology
Research Associate to join the Expeditionary and Special Programs
Division located in Worcester, MA.
Candidate ProfileThe successful candidate will be a self-motivated
individual with great communication and troubleshooting skills. A
strong work ethic and a strong team mentality are essential. The
successful candidate would help a small team of scientist prepare
and run a variety of experiments. The successful candidate would be
responsible for preparing supplies and testing the efficacy of
novel compounds/enzymes against various BSL2 organisms.
Basic Qualifications ---
- BS in life sciences (Biochemistry, microbiology, food science,
molecular biology, etc..) with 2+ years of experience OR Master's
degree in life sciences with 0 - 1 years of experience
- Must pass a background check and will be subjected to a drug
test prior to hire.
- Motivated individual who enjoys working in a group setting to
solve complex problems.
- An individual who is independent and self-directed.
- Have experience with antimicrobial testing, serial dilutions,
MPN enumeration, plate counts, preparing all types of media, and
the ability to adapt your experiments based on observed
- Have proper technique and experience working in a BSL2
- Adequate use of programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Minitab, R, and GraphPad.
- Have experience in purifying and characterizing
compounds/enzymes from organisms, testing antimicrobial compounds
on various surfaces, developing screening methods for novel
- Have experience in protein quantification methodologies
