Our Shared Services department is seeking a Data Analyst II to join our growing team in our Worcester office.


Position summary:




This person will be responsible for providing analytical support to Commercial Lines Operations leaders for operational reporting and metrics, resource modeling, strategic and tactical initiatives, and process solutions. This position will maintain and build operational reports and models for Service Operations and Underwriting Operations; provide weekly and monthly analysis and insight into metrics, trends and issues; and support and develop tools to monitor and track operational milestones and metrics.


Incumbents serving in the Business Analysis job family are responsible for the collection, development, analysis, documentation, and communication of business needs and requirements. Throughout an assignment, Business Analysts may act like a liaison while they interface and work collaboratively with technology and business organizations. Business Analysts usually assess the needs of the assignment by directly interacting with management, leadership, technology, the business and the customer. Business Analysts are also expected to use their working understanding of information systems, business operations, and processes to analyze requirements, develop specifications, story-boarding and prototyping to facilitate the design of integrated solutions. Their knowledge of business analysis, business processes and project methodologies is applied to all of their assignments.


This is a Full-time, Exempt role.



Responsibilities/Essential Functions:



--- Acquire knowledge of basic performance metrics and analytical concepts/methods pertinent to the commercial insurance industry


--- Become comfortable with company data structure and definitions; Understand the relationship between the business issues and the available data


--- Develop/build reports, tools, and automations to insure and monitor the success of strategic initiatives


--- Provide analytical support on routine and ad-hoc requests from Operational leaders


--- Effectively summarize and communicate findings of analysis to business and operational leaders


--- Obtain proficiency in the various software applications required to perform daily work


--- Actively participate in cross-functional projects.



Position Requirements:


--- Bachelor's Degree and 1 - 3 years of Analyst experience, or equivalent experience


--- Strong analytic and problem-solving skills


--- P&C Insurance Industry knowledge


--- Advanced Excel skills


--- Familiar with Microsoft Access and PowerPoint


--- Experience with Software Automation a plus (Automation Anywhere, specifically)


--- Effective communication and interpersonal skills


--- Ability to collaborate and build relationships with others at different levels of the organization


--- Acts resourcefully to ensure that work is completed in keeping with specified time and quality expectations


--- Creates a sense of energy, ownership, and personal commitment to the work.
