This requires us to deliver on our promises and always look for new opportunities to grow, both ourselves and our business.Job PurposeThe Dispatch Supervisor is responsible for engaging, managing and motivating the RI Dispatching team through the efficient execution of Customer Meter Services (CMS) workload and Gas Field Operations support. Production of performance analytic reporting will be used to help drive results.Key AccountabilitiesPosition Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Develop performance based operational reporting that will serve as a foundation for elevating both Dispatch and Field Operations efficiency and optimization
  • Daily analysis and reconciliation of work execution and technician utilization. Provide in-depth analysis of operational data to provide insights and recommendations to improve work execution, identify inefficiencies, reduce costs and improve effectiveness
  • Client engagement, understand the client's needs and goals
  • Deliver on customer, regulatory and company goals
  • Effectively manage, motivate, train and educate the dispatching team through daily operations. Supervise a diverse workforce to ensure job tasks are carried out efficiently and in accordance with National Grid policy
  • Build good working relationships with both internal partners and external customers. Positive interaction with support departments (i.e. Resource Planning and coordination, Electric Ops, Contact Center, Account Maintenance, and Collections organizations) to ensure efficient work execution
  • Contribute to the protection and safety of the public by coordinating the company's response to all electric and/or gas issues
  • Act as a communications HUB for field operations, customer and community, regulatory, pipeline safety, engineering, and other stakeholders ensuring required support foundation is in place to be able to situationally execute to field incidentsQualifications
    • Bachelor's degree required
    • Previous experience with Power BI and Excel required
    • Previous experience with Python, Maximo, Salesforce and experience in automation of performance based reporting preferred
    • Experience working in a utility industry preferred
    • Proven ability to supervise, motivate, guide and lead a diverse workforce
    • Proven ability to multi-task effectively and remain focused throughout workday
    • Able to work different shifts is a must, with potential to work weekends. Working hours may exceed 8 hours/day
    • Strong organization, analytical and planning skills required
    • Strong verbal communications capabilities required
    • Temperament to remain calm when all around you is not
