Job Description:

Assistant Production Supervisor position is a full time position with full benefits including but not limited to health, dental, 401k with contribution, paid vacation and 9 company paid holidays. The Assistant Production Supervisor will back up the Production Supervisor on 1st shift. The Assistant Production Supervisor candidates should have the following skill sets: The Assistant Supervisor and Lead person serve primarily an extension of the Shift Supervisor for all functions related to shift manufacturing. Most of these duties are SHARED between the Assistant Supervisor and the Lead person. PRIMARY DUTIES: Makes press connections to storage bags, and makes and records storage bag changes. Accesses and changes functions on PLC controlled equipment, sets timers on timer controlled equipment and sets steam gauges, air pressures, crack fill distances, and other related settings for correct press functioning. Tunes in molding presses to produce product that conforms to control piece standards and Quality Production Data Sheet (QPDS) Performs visual inspections of molded product, makes process adjustments when necessary Completes quality tests, fills out labels and interprets QPDS and Part Control Plans (PCP) Performs all duties and ensures that other production workers perform all duties in compliance with Company and OSHA safety requirements. Reports all inordinate personnel situations directly to Supervisor or Assistant Supervisor as soon he/she is aware. Interprets daily priority schedule, schedules presses, assigns machine operators and schedules breaks. Complete or assists the Supervisor in completing quality production data sheets, vacation requests, absentee reports, reprimands, material handler reports, meeting reports, nonconforming goods tags and reports, and operator quality reports, and Part Control Plans. Serves as a relief person during Machine Operator and Material Handler breaks as needed or as assigned by Supervisor. Performs or assigns other employees to various housekeeping/repacking functions. Performs new hire orientations to temporary staff and coaches existing operators. Assumes Supervisor's duties in the absence of Supervisor (Assistant only). Leadperson assumes Assistant Supervisor's duties in the absence of the Assistant Supervisor. This includes entering production data into Net Suite (Assistant only), and fixing data entry problems discovered later. Notifies Shift Supervisor of any problems with quality, safety or production. Performs other duties as required by Supervisor requiring essentially the same skills, abilities and knowledge. CORE COMPETENCIES: - Work safely, using good common sense, following all safety rules and regulations. Must lead by example with a positive attitude, dependability, reliability and punctuality. - Must be able to work in a high-volume production environment and deliver desired results. Required to be flexible when dealing with conflicting and often multiple priorities. Demonstrated ability to problem solve and follow-through on tasks. Must be available to work overtime as necessary. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School diploma; must be able to do simple math. Computer literacy (Microsoft Office products, ERP systems experience is a plus) Must have previous supervisory and/or lead person experience. 3-5 years' experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred; mechanically inclined necessary. Must be able to read, write and speak English, Bilingual (Spanish) a plus Job Requirements:

  • Maintain quality and production for shift
  • Obtain production parameters for upcoming production
  • Fulfilling the customer demands of areas of operation while making ongoing improvements to processes to advance food safety
  • Supervising the plant production and maintenance on a production shift
  • Ensure safety, quality, productivity and housekeeping in assigned areas
  • Supervising all areas and facets of plant production during shift operations
  • Ensuring the production floor meets production targets
  • Monitoring the production work flow and adjusting production to meet production schedule targets
  • Supervise daily activities of production employees
  • Supervise all plant production duties to relieve other production supervisor during vacation
  • Direct second shift manufacturing operations to meet daily production goals
  • Oversee the daily production operation and ensure production goals are met
  • Maintain production and quality standards
  • Meet production control schedules and maintains continuous flow of production
  • Improve production quality of products
  • Achieve minimum production standards in each production unit
  • Assign daily tasks/assignments to production operators to meet production schedule
