Ripple Effect Consulting is seeking talent for an available Solar
Technician 1 position. The successful candidate will have
Preventative & Corrective maintenance experience, be a
self-starter, and will be willing to take direction from Field
Service leads. All in all, this role will provide an unparalleled
opportunity for professional growth. This position will also be
based in central Massachusetts with regular travel, as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: -
- Based out of your home, travel to distributed and utility-scale
solar and battery storage facilities in the region to perform
preventative & corrective maintenance. -
- Perform other technical and administrative duties associated
with operating and maintaining a power facility.
- The Solar Tech 1 will perform -& assist -with -corrective,
preventive, and emergency maintenance and operations for which they
are qualified to safely and efficiently perform for equipment. This
-includes -but is not limited to, installing -Inverters (SMA,
Advanced Energy, Power Electronics, GPTech, SunGrow, and
Solectria), Trackers (Soltec & ATI), Combiner Boxes, PV Modules, DC
Collection equipment and systems, AC Collection and Distribution
equipment.
- Provide limited support for commissioning activities.
- Support warranty claims processes with vendors, as
needed.
- Participation in company training, as required.
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with Environmental and
Safety requirements.
- Perform other duties, as assigned. -
Desired Skills, Expertise and Competencies: -
- Understands and promotes general workplace safety and the
ability to follow safety standards as well as help the company
improve upon the standards in place. -
- Experience with electrical systems and familiarity of basic
safety principles to include LOTO and Electrical Safety. -
- Must have experience in operating personal computer with
technical proficiency of standard business software. Specifically,
experience with SCADA and Computerized Maintenance Management
Systems is highly recommended.

Education / Experience: -
- High school diploma or GED. -
- Experience in solar system installation or energy storage
systems an asset. -
- Basic knowledge of electrical or mechanical fundamentals
(single craft journeyman skills), such as electrical measurements,
control circuits, and solid-state theory application, and/or basic
knowledge of operational characteristics of equipment and
associated control devices installed in power facilities, is
preferred. -
Working Conditions: -
- Conduct work outside and from home. -
- Normal plant and/or office environment, including working at
heights, high/low ambient temperatures, and high/low humidity
areas. -
- Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting,
climbing stairs and ladders, and entering plant equipment to
access, inspect, or collect data on plant equipment. -
- Requires use of personal protective safety equipment
(respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear
plugs, etc). -
- May be required to work around rotating and energized
equipment, hazardous materials, and chemicals. -
- Occasionally requires lifting as appropriate to perform duties
and responsibilities. -
- A willingness to work overtime and non-standard working hours,
as needed. -
- Travel to sites outside typical area. -
