Discover a place where you can help shape the future of health care and do your life's best work.(sm) Receives and processes requests for Durable Medical Equipment and respiratory equipment, wound care supply, ostomy and urologicals from clinical staff, patients and customers. Responsible for recording order, verifying patient information, verifying insurance information and scheduling delivery according to Lakeview Medical protocol, and other related duties. Primary Responsibilities: Places orders for appropriate equipment and supplies based on benefit eligibility guidelines of the patient's insurance company. Applies working knowledge of the guidelines for medical need and any payment policies of all contracted insurance companies Utilizes proper telephone techniques. Responds to all patient, staff and customer inquiries following established guidelines Processes add-on orders following delivery protocol and access standards as needed. Determines urgency of staff, patient and customer request. Assigns order to proper delivery day. Confirms patient identification, eligibility and membership information. Confirms delivery/pickup location. Communicates routing instructions and directions of DME Technician. Submits equipment authorization requests to appropriate insurance carrier. Assists in authorization/reauthorization process. Follows-through on patient terminations and equipment returns May enter, track & verify all supply orders in dedicated software program(s) Ensures accurate coding and insurance guidelines met. Resolves discrepancies Performs cross-functional duties such as phone coverage for Customer Service and cash postings for Billing/Receivables Department as required or directed Complies with health and safety requirements and with regulatory agencies such as Community Health Accreditation Program, Department of Transportation, Federal Drug Administration, etc. Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives Enhances professional growth and development through educational programs, seminars, etc. Attends a variety of meetings, conferences, and seminars as required or directed Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed Regular, reliable and predicable attendance You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: High School graduate or equivalent and 1+ years of relevant experience Customer Service experience/background Extensive knowledge of durable medical and respiratory therapy equipment Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role.
