Job Description:
Posting Summary Provide specialized technical assistance in
support of a scientific research project designed to understand the
control of brain blood flow and vascular ion channel contribution
to blood flow regulation. Assist in development and implementation
of experiments relating to mouse brain microcirculation (e.g.
electrophysiology, imaging, and behavioral studies). Prepare
solutions, biochemical and molecular assays; maintain transgenic
and conventional animal colonies; perform small animal surgeries;
assist in the planning, designing, development, and troubleshooting
of protocols, research techniques, and experiments; collect and
analyze research data; perform literature searches; operate and
maintain laboratory chemical, animal, and equipment inventories and
purchase as needed; develop standard laboratory operating
procedures; maintain research results, protocols, methods,
compliance with chemical safety regulations, and other
documentation; and maintain day-to-day functions of running the lab
as assigned by the supervisor. Desirable Qualifications Experience
with electrophysiology, imaging, handling of small laboratory
animals, and/or animal colony management desirable. Other
